Juliet Haysom (b. 1978)
Juliet Haysom studied at the Ruskin School of Drawing, University of Oxford (1998-2001), where she was awarded a scholarship from Pembroke College. She went on to complete an MPhil in Sculpture at the Royal College of Art (2002-4) and was awarded the Sainsbury Scholarship in Painting and Sculpture at the British School in Rome (2004-5). The following year she became artist in residence at Headington School, Oxford.
Juliet has exhibited nationally and internationally, participating in shows at the Drawing Gallery, London (2004-5), Romanian Academy, Rome (2005), British School, Rome (2005), Abbot Hall Gallery, Kendal (2006), and Image Furini Art Contemporanea, Arezzo (2007). Juliet was short-listed for the Jerwood Drawing Prize in both 2002 and 2005 and her drawings are in the collections of the Victoria and Albert Museum and the British Museum.
Since winning the Jerwood Sculpture Prize in 2007, Juliet has won a public commission for the Lake Shore development in Bristol. Juliet lives and works in London.
